Probably the Block 1 red that edges closest towards a hint of austerity in structure, this fabulous Syrah is utterly intense on the nose with screaming black fruits, big wafts of mint and raspberry ripple. Firm tannins and smart acidity run through a palate otherwise awash with generosity of fruit. Great length and a finish reminiscent of northern Rhône heroes, packed with spice and graphite. 12 months in new barrels, 90% French, 10% American.
