Falanghina, Vesevo, Campania, Italy 2024
About
Vesevo is situated in the Irpinian hills of Campania. Known as the ‘Switzerland of the South’, this is one of Italy’s most exciting wine-producing areas thanks to its distinctive microclimate. The terraced vineyards, planted between 450 and 700 metres above sea level, are subjected to a constant cool breeze that blows off the Bay of Naples. Over the centuries, this same breeze has blown volcanic ash from Mount Vesuvius inland, creating calcareous and basaltic soils rich in phosphorus and potassium.
The nose displays aromas of tropical fruit and apple with a hint of white flowers. Well balanced and fresh, the palate has a bright vein of acidity complimented by a core of bright citrus and stone fruit flavours.
