The grapes for this quite stunning Malbec comes from the very special sub-district of La Consulta in the Uco Valley at 1,200 metres above sea level, from vines more than 70 years old. La Consulta seems to produce a very specific fruit intensity, particularly on the nose, where there is a decidely pure and sweet scent in the Malbec, an aroma we often half-jokingly associate with 'black jelly babies'. That same purity carries on to the palate in this beautifully integrated yet bold and robust Malbec. 12 months ageing in new French oak for 50% of the wine.
