From one of the most historic and beautiful vineyards in the world, an uncompromising silky beast that epitomises the extremes of its provenance. Roughly 50 / 50 Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, no oak of course, the nose is a fascinating and enchanting dance of sweet black fruits, prunes and dates, all-spice and Bovril. Yes, it’s meaty, robust and rich, but it is not sloppy or ill-defined. The tannins are precise and tidy, shepherding a potentially raucous shambles of natural factors, like a bulldozer doing ballet.
